Peak Power Service Oy, a Finnish company specialising in the metal industry, has signed an extensive cooperation agreement with an Indonesian state-owned company, the aim of which is to produce metal industry experts in Europe and alleviate the labour shortage in the sector.
On 12 August 2025, Peak Power Service Oy from Varkaus signed an agreement with the Indonesian state-owned company, PT PAL Marine Service, under which the companies will start producing metal industry professionals for the European market. The agreement also includes Peak Power Service Oy's partnership company PT Cipta Solution Oy in Tampere.
The agreement is a concrete result of Peak Power Service Oy's EURA 2001 project, and it is based on a previously signed letter of intent. The aim of the cooperation is to attract a comprehensive number of multi-skilled metals and process workers to the European market. The agreement covers the whole of Europe on an exclusive basis.
Training in Indonesia and temporary agency work in Europe
The state-owned company PT PAL Marine Service supplies resources and tests and, if necessary, trains experts according to the needs and requirements of the customers' projects in Indonesia. The company already employs 3,000 metal industry professionals, who also know the basics of English. They will now also be added to the resource bank, where European metal companies will be able to hire and hire them for their European sites.
Peak Power Service Oy and the European companies purchasing the services pay for the experts' travel to the client countries, take care of their housing costs and are responsible for complying with the labour legislation of the target countries.
The goal is to produce a hundred welders and fitters in Europe already this year, of whom 40-50 will be employed in Finland. The first 40 welders and fitters will leave for Norway.
Indonesians are employed by power plant suppliers, metal workshops and shipyards. The newcomers are welders and fitters, but the cooperation can also be expanded to other professional groups.
Contract partners have strong expertise in the metal industry
Peak Power Service Oy is a multi-talented company in the metal industry. The company currently has 20 to 30 employees, in addition to which 80 other professionals work at the company's sites. The company's goal is to increase its operations tenfold. The company's turnover forecast for this year is EUR 3-4 million.
PT Cipta Solutions Oy has strong expertise in Indonesia's resourcing and logistics. That is why the company is already involved in recruiting Indonesian experts, takes care of logistics and takes care of customer contacts.
PT PAL Marine Service Oy has extensive experience and networks in employee recruitment and training services in the field. In addition, it has extensive experience in various projects in the process and marine industries in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
